Skilling Up the Village

Skilling Up the Village

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Do you know that we have a village amidst us here in Singapore; one that brings hope, help and healing to people?

Over the weekend, we were honoured to have been able to not only share about strategic volunteer partnerships through an equipping workshop, but we were also grateful and blessed to have been able to interact, know and be inspired by the dedicated team of staff and core volunteers leaders at Tamar Village.

Discussions for the workshop began in September 2019 when Tamar Village connected with us. They expressed that they would like to further grow their effectiveness in partnering volunteers to bring hope, help and healing, as they seek to serve and impact more ladies, children, youth, men and families who are affected by the trades in the red-light districts.

Last Saturday, James drew from his experience in strategically partnering volunteers in the social service sector and equipped the village team with knowledge, perspectives and skills in key topics such as:

  • Role Design
  • Risk Management
  • Recruitment & Selection
  • Retention of Volunteers

We thank Tamar Village for the hospitality and also for the opportunity to be a part of your growth.
