What do you get when you put a psychologist, counsellor and a social worker with experience of burnout into the same room? You get a great and refreshing conversation about mental well-being during COVID-19. And no, we don’t look like the picture above *Grin*

The Panel

On 27 May 2020, I met online with:

  • Ms Joy Hou (Registered Psychologist & Founder, EmpathyWorks Psychological Wellness),
  • Ms Veena Nanthakumar (Counsellor & Programme Manager, Caregivers Alliance Limited), and
  • Mr Dean Shams (Founder & Communication Strategist, Nabyula Pte. Ltd)

as we dialogued about a much-needed topic about managing our emotions during COVID-19.

The Fruitful Conversation

Though initially scheduled as a 30-mins session, the discussion got so rich that it was extended to 50 mins.

Listen in as we covered topics such as what is burnout, what are symptoms of burnout, how do we manage our troubling emotions that may arise during COVID-19, how do we take control of our destructive self-talk and how do we help others who might be going through a challenging time with their mental well-being.
