#IfOnlyYouKnew – Parts 5 & 6: Will You Hear Me Out?

In this last instalment of the 6-part #IfOnlyYouKnew interviews, we will hear our final pair of youth and adult, Ivy and Eric, as they share about the crucial ingredient to overcoming life’s internal battle and how we can help someone overcome theirs too.
This makes me connect deeply with a animation movie I watched just a couple of days back. In one scene, we see a child’s soul being crushed by self-doubt and by the discouraging words others spoke of her. But as she was walking aimlessly, dealing with her crushed soul, an older mentor (who was himself guilty of speaking some discouraging words before that), caught up with her and with his actions, showed that he finally understands her and encouraged her to find back the zest for life.
May we all find someone who can hear us out and be someone who hears others out as well.

Part 6 – Eric: I am very tired
About #IfOnlyYouKnew
#IfOnlyYouKnew is a movement brought to you by Project REdisCOVER and Emmaus Strategies. Launched on World Mental Health Day on 10 Oct 2020, it aims to raise awareness about mental well-being and also to empower and inspire others through stories of personal encounters with mental health challenges and how they overcame it.
Have a story? Inspire others by heading over to http://tiny.cc/ifonlyyouknew and pen a letter:
☞ ≤ 30 years old? What would you want to say to those older than you about the things you go through?
☞ > 30 years old? What advice would you give the younger you now from where you are?
We look forward to hearing from you.
