The 5Fs of Volunteer Care
Our team is indeed privileged to be given the opportunity to co-organize the Volunteer Care Day for volunteers from Pentecost Methodist Church.
Each year, more than 100 volunteers from the church are deployed to work with charities to bless the needy and underprivileged. These volunteers serve as befrienders and tutors as they visit needy families served by 2 Family Service Centres, inmates in prison, seniors in the nearby Senior Activity Centres and help make community events and school holiday programmes a success.
It was indeed a great session seeing the 5Fs of volunteer appreciation coming together: Food, Fellowship, Fruit of labour and Fun, way Forward.
Volunteers were treated to great food as they bonded and got to know and fellowshipped with other volunteers. Representatives from the community partners, such as from the Family Service Centres also came by to celebrate the work of the volunteers as we reviewed the fruit of their labour. Finally, our team got the facilitate the team-bonding session where we helped volunteers to remember the core values of the volunteer ministry through a fun game. We also also facilitated a “gamestorming” session where we reviewed the volunteers’ experience and planned the way forward for the next year.
Thank you again Pentecost Methodist Church for the great work you are doing in the community, as you remember and share with those in need.
